Android Device Manager "last seen" Dec. 17th, but no location offered

Hi. I lost my phone between my friends car and my front door a few says ago. I was convinced I left it in his car, but neither he nor I have been able to find it. I remembered I had downloaded the Device Manager, so I just tried to track it. It cannot reach my device (I think because it lost it's charge) so no luck there, but I was suprised to find it was "last seen" yesterday. Does this indicate someone stole it, and powered it up at some point yesterday? I was hoping it might still be in my friends car if we looked more closely. Also, it only showed the date that is was last seen, with no location or specific timestamp. Is there a way I can access that location? It seems odd that it was not included. If it was stolen, is there a change I can track it if they turn the phone on again?

I can replace the phone, but I had been taking notes on one of the apps I would be really upset to lose, so I am hoping there is still hope.
