Both my Samsung Note 4 on ATT and my Nexus 7 are on in the morning but I am positive I turn them off at night.
Does anyone have any idea why this happens???
My Galaxy S4 had been doing the same thing.
I have been running AVG software but it tells me there is no virus.

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, just to clarify--you're positive that you power the devices off completely at night? Or are they just going to sleep? If they're powered off, are you keeping them plugged in? What happens if they aren't plugged in?

Maybe AVG software is waking the devices up in the middle of the night to check for updates and/or do a virus scan. One other thing you may need to call ghost busters, you may have some ghost using it while you are a sleep.

If AVG is waking the device up, that means it must never have been powered off completely, because I'm not aware of an app that can actually power up the phone from a powered off state.

This is true, when some people hit the power button and put the device to sleep they feel that they have powered it off completely.

When you power off your Note 4, are you seeing a dialog box that says "Power Off" and "Restart"? You have to select your choice. If not, you may just be putting it into sleep mode.
