Android gallery not showing mp4 files.

This is a recent issue. I download all kinds of video formats and they all show up in the gallery, except for mp4 files. They can still be found in the file manager app and they can still be played, they just don't ever appear in the gallery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Into which folder are the mp4 files downloading? Make sure there isn't any file there called ".nomedia".

Thanks for the reply. It's the file /storage/emulated/0 and its the only thing in the file. I've tried moving it to other files but it didn't help.

/storage/emulated/0/ (which is the same as /storage/sdcard0/) is essentially the main data directory. Try moving the mp4 file to the /storage/emulated/0/Videos/ directory, or /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera/ directory.
