android gmail app vs iOS

It seems that the iOS gmail app works better than the android one.

I always receive notifications on the iPhone before I do on android. And occasionally when I manually refresh the android app it just refreshes eternally and doesn't receive email.

Could it be due to dual factor authentication?
On iOS I setup a application specific password and on android it uses dual authentication.

Any help?

There are so many factors that go into receiving an email that it is hard to say what is causing it.

I receive emails instantly. I have my autosync on. Maybe clear cache and data

The same thing happens to me. I have an iPad and an iPhone 5S and both receive gmail at the exact same time, and my Moto X is usually up to a minute behind them. It's been that way for the 2 weeks I've had my X. It's no biggie, but I've been curious as to why.
