Hello all, I've been an android lover for about three years. I've never gotten into rooting or any scary software stuff. I used to do all the pre updates and changes to my bb and it never bothered me but something about these phones worries me. Ready to read up on it now and give it a try though. Glad to be here!

Welcome to AC. Thats the best thing you can do is read and read before attempting rooting and hacking your android device. If still in doubt go ahead and ask questions and someone helpful will answer them to the best of their abilities.
