Android M + Auto

Just got the Android M update yesterday on my Nexus 5. Plugged into Android Auto for the drive home and found that media is playing through the phone rather than the head unit (8100NEX). Regular Bluetooth audio streaming (wireless) works so this is something new under Android M when connected to Android Auto.

If anyone has M + AA, can you comment on how this is working for you?

I'm having a similar issue on my Note 4 with a Kenwood DDX9702S that seemed to coincide with an update to 5.1.1. Curious to see what response you get.

Crap, that's frustrating to hear. I have a Verizon S6, so hopefully this will be fixed by the time I get M (likely a loooong time....)

Confirmed with 6.0 on a Nexus 5. Video interface still works, but audio comes from the phone speakers.
I tried a reinstall and a new pairing with my 8100 unit, to no avail. Hope they fix it. I hate listening to the radio.

No problems with Marshmallow here on a Nexus 6. Continued to work as usual after the update.

Try reinstalling google play services? Same with Android Auto. etc.

It's unbelievable how inconsistently Google tests stuff.
I have the feeling with every update AA gets fu...d up again.

Tested my Moto Nexus 6 as well and it works as advertised. I'd recommend clearing data on apps.

Uninstalled Android Auto, wiped the cache partition, reinstalled AA. It now works as it should on my Nexus 5 with Android M.
