Android Novice

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum because I am a complete novice when it comes to any technology. I have an Android Incredible and received a message the other night saying "phone storage running low". So of course instead of ignoring the message and waiting to talk to someone that knows what they're talking about, I took it upon myself to start clicking away and hitting Clear Data on just about everything. Well, needless to say, I lost just about everything on my phone. Thanks to a great guy I work with, he was able to retrieve all my photos. Thanks to this awesome website, I was able to figure out how to get all my ringtones and notification tones back. Now the one last thing I need is to try to get my contacts back. I cannot seem to find them. Please help. Any assistance is GREATLY appreciated. I have learned my lesson. Next time I get a weird message, I'll wait til I have someone that knows what they are doing, fix the problem.

i had the droid inc and synced it thru facebook for my Numbers. maybe you could download facebook and the number will be there thru facebook. 100% of my friends that i actually talk to had their number on facebook.

You didn't have your contacts backed up through Google? If not, might want to do so in the future. Makes getting a new phone easier.

Do you have any sort of sync setup with your carrier (like Backup Assistant with Verizon)?

First off, if you saved your contacts to your phone and not your google account, clearing them will clear them out. Personal suggestion go online on a PC to google.com/contacts and login with the account you use for your phone. Once you do that see if they snced. If they are there then just go to your phone and go to the contacts app on your phone then menu button, it s "CONTACTS TO DISPLAY' on mine, then click the account and make sure the categories are checked where your contacts are filed under.
