Android OS and Android System are both staying awake on my device for a long time sometimes making the CPU usage go all the way up to 1 hour. If I look at the stats I see that something keeps my device awake whenever the screen is on. No battery apps work with KitKat so I was hoping someone from here could help me

I have the same ongoing problem with my Nexus 7. With all Android systems I had - 4.2 - 4.3 - 4.4. Funny, but it NEVER happened to my Nexus 4. Same OS versions.
Never was able to figure out what causes it. Should be some app, but I don't run anything out of ordinary...
Still baffled...

Is that a typo? Of course the device is awake when the screen is on.

Assuming it's a typo...

Hunting down wakelocks has become pretty much impossible on 4.4 since it broke all the wakelock detector type apps.
