Just tried to use Android Pay after updating my phone to beta 2 during the night. It was rejected saying my phone is rooted and can't be verified for use.

Not sure if this happens to other beta users?

Also is there a Google feedback thread somewhere that I can post this issue?

Android Pay worked for me so it may be something unique to your phone.
I have the Verizon sim enabled version which has a locked bootloader....I don't know if that makes a difference.
As far as feedback you can go to settings and pull up support. I would also check the Beta site for a link.

Yes... I checked on mine and AP will not run... I fail the CTS test when running safetynet. I unlocked, flashed, relocked, but this is probably just something Google has to fix on in the safety net stuff. This has popped up from time to time on the betas and I think it actually has more to do with the boot image/kernel than anything else.

I'm chatting with Google now about it... might be a day or two before they fix it is my guess.

I made a bug report and interestingly 2 other people have added the same issue to the report. Both updated OTA and failed Android Pay. I am in the UK not sure if the Verizon SIM helped Mike Dee but am kind of relieved it is not just me. Google are asking me to replicate the issue and send a bug report but am home and nowhere near anywhere with Android Pay for now. So maybe a day before I can update. But at least other people are having the issue so it will likely be addressed..

I just tried it at the local grocery store. It worked! Not sure why it's failing the safety test. But for me the Android Pay app is working.

I found an answer on another website that seems to explain the issue. I have screenshot the posts as they tell you how to check your device.

Basically open the play store app and click on settings. Look at device certification. If it says certified you can use Android Pay. If it says Uncertified then you will have problems. Basically it can take a couple of days for Google to update the device to their servers.

Mine says it's uncertified and my Android Pay worked. So thats probably not the answer either.

My phone passed safety net test today and I could add cards to Android Pay. So looks like something has been corrected at Google's server end.

Yeah... I noticed that as well. I figured as much... it wasn't every phone, but enough for them to start getting some feedback about it and they addressed it on their end. Quick turn-around.
