Android phone with Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic

Do you think the Apple earphones with mic and remote feature will work on HTC Eris or any Android phone with 3.5mm jack?

3rd party knockoff (Maxell) that I use with an iPod Touch work just fine. No idea about the Apple OEM set, but I don't see why not.
