Android - Pixel Volume Jumps to Max

[Android Central Question]

Hey all,

About a month ago my Pixel started to randomly jump the media volume to maximum. I could be browsing the web, playing CoC, whatever...the media will be set to "0" then suddenly jump to max. Has anyone seen this before?

Things I have done to try to fix this....
-See what apps are running when this happens. Clear the cache of those apps
-Simply restart the phone
-Reduce the number of apps running

This is all on 8.0.0 OS

This is happening to me too and it's absolutely annoying. I've got a Pixel XL, and shortly after updating to 8.0.0 the media volume started randomly resetting to max ALL the time. Doesn't matter how often I lower the volume or turn it off, it resets, usually in the middle of whatever I'm watching.

I hadn't downloaded any recent apps prior to this happening, the only change was the operating system update. I like 8.0 so far but I can't stand this volume glitch. It's infuriating.
