Something is up with my Nexus 5. For a long time now, something is keeping the phone awake. See the screenshots below. I have tried putting it in safe mode, airplane mode, and airplane mode while in safe mode. It seems to have something to do with either wifi or cell networks, because the problem seems to go away during airplane mode. I'm not rooted, so I can't use wakelock. Any other options? Just start disabling random Google apps (since it continues to say awake even in safe mode?)

In the first pic, the big drop off just after 2pm is me rebooting the phone into Safe Mode. You see that the wake continues. It doesn't end until I put it into airplane mode, and stays good until I take it out of airplane mode. Once out of airplane mode, the wake starts up again.

The best way to find the gremlin in the system is to start with a clean slate, factory reset and install the apps one at a time to test what is waking the device, it says Android system, but it could be an app calling the system to wake.

Instant results! I haven't reinstalled all the apps yet but I am already seeing a huge difference in wake times.

Just to follow up, I have had no problems since the factory reset. In fact, I am seeing battery life I have never experienced. I got all the apps reinstalled, and the phone still sleeps like a baby. Granted, I'm a light user, but I am not used to seeing 24 hr projected battery life, much more than 24 hrs.

Thanks Raptor007!

I know this is an old post but this is a problem for my nexus 6P right now. I did everything you did first (safe mode, airplane mode etc) NOTHING was helping.

Did you factory reset and then test apps out 1 by 1?? if so which app was the culprit??
