Samsung gs9+, 8.0.0,
Missing Android System Webview.
Showing disabled in app store without enable option.
No download option.
Need a mirror site with the sys app if anyone can point the way.

The functions of System Webview are now handled by Chrome, and Google set up Android so both cannot be enabled at the same time. To enable System Webview, you first need to disable Chrome, then the option to enable will be available. If you enable Chrome again, it will automatically disable SWV. I'm not aware of a way to allow both to run at the same time if you were wanting both.

Thanks. I'm running into this on my s9 plus, but not my s8 with the same os and chrome.
It's one app only that won't cooperate, Woot.
I uninstalled chrome, Woot works, thank you.
I then reselected Chrome, ran it a bit, and now both are functional at the same time, as is on the other devices.

Glad you got it working. I'm not sure all the ins and outs of SWV, but this isn't the first time I've seen this sort of solution. It even happened with me once. I had to disable Chrome, enable SWV, then take an update for SWV to fix a bug, then enable Chrome again. On my phone, that disabled SWV again, but whatever bug it had also affected Chrome's handing of those functions, and was fixed by updating that disabled SWV app.

Yeah, I've seen a few threads where disabling Chrome - updating SWW - enabling Chrome back fixed different problems. I guess related to some SWW glitch getting stuck in Chrome that even clearing data didn't solve it.

The most common issue was related to the CaptivePortalLogin feature, used to enter credentials in public WiFi networks.

As Mooncatt said, usually when you enable Chrome back the old SWW app will be automatically disabled, unless you switch the provider in the Developer Options (with mixed results).
