Just an FYI.

A few days ago "Android systems Webview" upgrade caused many of us to start seeing apps crashing like Gmail and numerous others. A quick uninstall of the update had everything back to normal. That issue was resolved so updated the "Android Systems Webview" on my Note 10+ yesterday and the phone started "crawling". No apps were crashing but everything was opening like I was on Android "Gingerbread" or something? Uninstalled latest update on "Android Systems Webview" and phone back to normal.

When the ASWV problem started, I checked my Note 10+, still on Android 9, and I found that I had disabled the module long time before, when it probably also caused problems. All my apps work fine without it, so I let it disabled.

GDany, thanks! Doing the same thing for now. My Note 10+ is working "buttery smooth" with ASWV's last update uninstalled. It was unbelievably slow before doing that. Kept thinking I was having internet or cell service issues. Appreciate your input.

In Pie, Android System Webview is disabled by default, because Chrome performs the system webview function (in devices running Nougat through Pie). So in your case, it was a Chrome update that fixed the problem.

What version of Android is your phone running?

Thank you for the info.

B.Diddy, thanks for the suggestion. Did wipe cache, reinstalled latest update on ASWV and phone went into a crawl again. Even videos were buffering like crazy, everything was slow. Apps were not crashing but ridiculously slow. Uninstalled ASWV and everything back buttery smooth. Don't care what ASWV is for but whatever it is I don't need it. Again, thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate the help, but for now will not let that update.

Hmm, that's strange. Send some feedback to Google about that. Android System Webview is essentially how non-browser apps give you a web interface. Besides sending feedback to Google, I'd also keep an eye on the latest update date, and the next time a new update is released try updating again and see if the problem is fixed.

B. Diddy, thanks for the suggestion, for now will wait for new updates. I might just keep rolling along with this set up. It's working great. Planning on swapping phone out in the future anyway so will see how it goes.
