Question Android to TV HDMI type of cable?

I want to play games on my TV from my tablet. Will the HDMI USB c cable charge my tablet while using or should I get the adapter with a charging option?

It's a Samsung tab s7 Fe and Google says it supports HDMI output

Welcome to Android Central forums. The short answer is you'll need the adaptor. HDMI doesn't carry power. This is why devices like the Android TV stick, Roku devices and those digital TV boxes all need an external power source in addition to the HDMI connection. If you want to power and play, you'll need an adaptor that charges and connects to your USBC to HDMI.
