Name is Andrew. Running a rooted Optimus S. Been doing lots of research into the custom ROMing community. I'm trying to take part in it myself. Have had some issues - was about to use clockwork ROM Manager when I read posts in AC stating that it would brick the Optimus S. Trying to learn all I can about it!

At around 2:00 this morning, Sprint tried to get me to upgrade my OS to Gingerbread. I don't want my root removed just yet, and I'm doing fine with Froyo right now. It keeps prompting over and over. A bit annoying... Anyway, I digress... I have zero experience with the command line developing and root access. Hoping to learn a lot more.

If anyone has any suggestions on good threads for the command line access or any comments on how their Optimus S did with the Gingerbread upgrade, let me know!

On previous releases you could press "More Info" for the update, then pull the battery. That would stop the annoying prompts. Don't know if it works with ZVD release as this is the first update since ZVD came out. Try it out and let us know.

Firstly, thanks for being so quick to respond and welcome me in! Secondly, I took your advice, and so far no annoying prompts! If it simply takes 40 minutes to start popping up, I'll amend my reply...
