I don't know what it is with me lately but I'm curious how many others feel this way. Animations drive me nuts. To the point where I went into developer options and lowered them all to .5x. I hate waiting for apps to draw animations when they launch, I don't care how pretty it looks!

I'm assuming your on Android nougat? I recently updated to this and noticed apps slide in and out from the right. I use nova launcher so if I want I could change it. Recommend that if you are unhappy. Think they are going for the aesthetically pleasing Apple style.

I do admit that sometimes I have little patience for animations. "Just get to it!" :P

This is always the first thing i do :) Set all animations to 0.5x. It just shows you how much faster your phone actually is but the device waits for the animation to finish before you can continue. I remember watching a video of a guy using a iPhone and he turned off all animations and the phone LOOKED a lot faster. :)

I really appreciate all the effort that goes into making these animations look really pretty, but i rather have a snappy phone than a fancy phone.

I keep them stock on my 6P... Dropping lower just seems to disrupt the smooth flow of the phone. On faster phones, the animations make transitions more fluid and less jerky and robotic.

If you engage developer options, just turn them all off. I don't like them either so I deactivate them. At first it may seem a bit jerky, but after a while you get really used to it... and its just FAST and snappy. Once you get used to it, going back to even .5s animations seems sluggish.
