As of today, for every "Thanks" you receive in a post, your reputation level will increase by 5 points. As your reputation increases, the number of green squares (opposite side of your name in each post) will increase as well. If you position your mouse over these squares your current reputation is displayed, based on the following point values:

50 - shows a lot of promise
100 - is on a path to success
250 - deserves an honorable mention
500 - has an accumulation of wisdom
1,000 - has prevailing wisdom
2,500 - is showing signs of brilliance
5,000 - has a brilliant mind
8,000 - is an Android Central VIP
10,000 - is an Android Central Elite Member

We'll work on getting the actual # displayed as well.

Unfortunately, enabling this feature did automatically adjust reputation for thanks received prior to today. I had to manually calculate and update each members reputation based on the total thanks they had received. I did this for anyone with 200 posts or greater. If you received thanks since 9/23, you should also notice an adjustment, regardless of the number of posts you have. As you can imagine, it took a long time to get this done.

You do not need to meet the above criteria to have you reputation level adjusted. If your current reputation isn't being displayed correctly, please send me a PM, and I will be happy to adjust if necessary.

Glad you like it. I need to talk to Dieter about adjusting the bars down a little though. Mine should not be off the chart like it is, so clearly there's a scaling problem we need to work out. At my level, I should have about 7 dots, not 11 :)

So, just out of curiosioty... What does the "Add to ... Reputation" (scales) link do now?

Oh and Cory, the reason you have 11 and not 7 dots is because... you da Man! ;)

Haha thanks Pville ;) The scale allows you to add to a persons reputation, 1 point at a time. It will probably be removed, in favor of just using the Thanks button. I don't think the average person knows or understands what the scale button does.

OK - I was curious if it would be like a Super Thanks! ;) But I think your correct that most folks don't know what it is or that it's there. I didn't realize it until I noticed I had 2 Reputation comments in my profile. I looked at them for a while like... what are those?

Have Fun!

Love it, now I find a reason to go on forums more awesome.

Cool. Now if we can just get people to use the "Thanks" button instead of typing "Thanks!."

Anyway, Cory, thanks!

:p

this is cool... maybe deduct points for asking about atk? (j/k) this sight has come along in a year. i was so hesitant to post or hang because it was so small. and look a year later you all are the number android sight to go to.

Corey - I noticed that the Scales still appear on my posts but not on other posts. Is this a Bug or is it intentional?

You have 3 right now. Is that what it's supposed to be? Send a screenshot to my email address. I will fix it stat!

It's the Old School Scale, not the green scale. See attachment.

Sorry to send it in a post, I did nnot see where to make an attachment in the PM screen.

Cory,

Just an FYI - I'm still seeing the scales, but only on my own posts. I attached a screen shot of the scales above.

Is anyone else seeing the scales icon on the top right of their posts, or am I out of my mind?
