Like all of us with phones, I get a lot of crap calls. I guess we aren't going to get help with some powers that be, so self defence is required.

I use my phones "block" and "report as spam" features, and this seems to stop about 2/3 of them. However, some still get through life Rep Rick Larson, and United Health Care monthly wellness check.

My question, "Can I forward calls from only one number?" I know I can forward all my calls, but obviously that wont work.

I'd like to forward Rick Larson's calls to Rick Larson, and UHC back to them.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks, Mark.

Political organizations definitely have to adhere to opt-outs -- have you contacted that rep's office and asked them to take your number off their list? I know that at least for spam texts from political offices, the "Stop" text does get rid of them.

For United Healthcare, check in your UHC account online to see if there's a marketing section.

(Sorry, I don't know about forwarding a call back to that number -- it's probably not possible.)

I feel your pain from annoying calls. What phone do you have? Samsung's native dialer app has some pretty good spam blockers. I don't know how many calls it blocks but it is nice to get a heads up for numbers that call that are suspected spam. Although for me the calls mostly stopped a while back and these days it's the, I found your number in my phone, texts. Way back in the day Google Voice allowed users to set up individual out going messages for specific numbers, so if you sent them to VM you could have one message for your friends, one for your grandma, and one for strangers, and more if you wanted. It also allowed you to perform specific actions when different people would call, for instance going directly to VM, or just hanging up. I miss the old app.

As for your question today, a quick Google had this answer for individual call forwarding.

To only forward calls from one specific number, you'll need to use a feature called selective call forwarding or custom call forwarding, which allows you to create rules to forward calls from specific contacts or numbers to a different number. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Here's how to set it up, depending on your phone type:
Android: [3, 5]

  1. Open the Phone app: Go to the Phone app on your Android device. [3, 5]
  2. Access Settings: Tap the three-dot menu icon or settings gear within the Phone app. [3, 5]
  3. Find Call Forwarding: Navigate to "Settings" or a similar option, then look for "Call forwarding" or "Forwarding". [3, 5]
  4. Select Forwarding Type: Choose the type of call forwarding you want to use, such as "Always forward" or "Forward when busy". [3, 5]
  5. Enter Forwarding Number: Enter the phone number to which you want to divert calls. [3, 5, 6, 7]
  6. Create Rules (Custom Call Forwarding): [1, 2]
    • Some Android phones or providers might offer a feature to create custom call forwarding rules, allowing you to specify which numbers to forward calls from. [1, 2]
    • Look for options like "Manage rules" or "Custom call forwarding". [1, 2]
    • Create a rule that specifies the specific number you want to forward calls from and the number you want to forward them to. [1, 2]
  7. Save Changes: Save your changes to activate the call forwarding. [3, 5]
iPhone: [7]
  1. Open the Phone app: Go to the Phone app on your iPhone. [7]
  2. Access Settings: Tap the settings icon. [7]
  3. Find Call Forwarding: Navigate to "Calls" or a similar option, then look for "Call Forwarding". [7]
  4. Turn on Call Forwarding: Toggle on the call forwarding option. [7]
  5. Enter Forwarding Number: Enter the phone number to which you want to divert calls. [3, 6, 7]
  6. Create Rules (Custom Call Forwarding): [8]
    • Unfortunately, iPhones do not natively support selective call forwarding, meaning you cannot forward calls from specific numbers. [8]
    • You may need to use a third-party app or service that supports this feature. [9]
    • Consider using a VOIP SIP application or a VOIP PBX switch that allows for custom call forwarding rules. [9]
General Notes: [4, 10]
  • Selective Call Forwarding: This feature allows you to forward calls from a specific list of numbers. [4, 10]
  • Custom Call Forwarding: This feature allows you to create rules based on contacts or specific numbers. [1, 2]
  • Check with your carrier: Some carriers might offer selective call forwarding as a service, so check with your provider to see if they offer it. [4, 10]
  • Third-party apps: Consider using third-party apps or services that offer call forwarding features, such as Google Voice. [1, 2]
Let us know if any of these work for you, and best wishes.
