Anny suggestions?

recently switched back to my old pc which i had never connected my nexus7 too , it is running windows 7 home premium and when i go to my computer the nexus7 is listed under "portable devices" when i click on it, it is empty! i cannot view any of the files or folders on there. any suggestions?
it is connected as a media device, and was working flawlessly on my other pc also running windows 7 home

Go to settings---> Storage, under Device---> Click the three dots at the top right corner---> USB Computer Connection---> Check whatever applies---> Hopefully, that was your problem
