I'm always nervous when doing a trade-in via Samsung (given the horror stories I've seen in various forums). However, just successfully completed my 5th phone upgrade with Samsung (S22U to S23U) without issue.

I told the bride last year that we were done with chasing the upgrades unless we got a stupid deal. Well, I got a stupid deal for her S22U, so pulled the trigger. The deal for my S22U isn't good enough, yet, so I'm staying put. (though I am tempted by the 1TB device)

Hers is a 256 GB and mine is a 512 GB.

Thanks that's where mine is heading. Texas facility was having a lot of troubles during the pre order days. I am shipping mine from Ga so hoping it does well 😬

Good luck...I've never had a problem. As an insurance policy, of sorts, I videoed wiping the phone, ensuring it turned on, packaging, etc. Turned out to be unnecessary.

Thanks. That's what I plan on doing. I have traded with them a few times and never had a problem either but seems the last few years there has been an uptick on problems. Glad yours went well. Gives me hope.

Just thought I would let you know, my z fold 3 trade-in was sent to Texas and was just notified today they gave me the full trade in value of $650. This is a lot better than the deal they were giving at pre-order. Anyway, hated having to give up the z fold 3 but loving the s 23 ultra. And glad my trade in went without a hitch.

@rsmin wow, $650 for a Fold. Granted this is days later and deals may have changed but I got $750 for S22U. I would have expected more or equal value for the foldable. I chatted with @notforhire in another thread about his anticipated trade possibly for the S24 which is my eventual goal also, I just don't need the high storage capacity they're looing for. $250 ~ $300 now and hopefully a couple times that trade value later is my tactic.

In the meantime just like @notforhire was saying, I've heard several horror stories about trade-ins and have held my breath each time I trade in with Samsung. To date I haven't had any issues from them which makes me wonder if either those folks saying they had issues did something wrong. Didn't factory reset the device, didn't package it well leading to damage, or just weren't being completely honest with us or Samsung. I will be sending my old device in a few days from now and I'm expecting things to go well, or at least as expected. Truthfully I wonder how many times they even care?
