another update coming next week?

No link. This is raw intel. Im pretty sure its legit. Guess we'll just wait and when it comes out ill say "you're welcome" lol.

Thanx for the recon patches
One question tho...
Will us leakers be able to get it ota?

I sure hope it fixes the silent phone thingy

No ota unless youre on the current approved OS. But if you can get the OS file you can boot from your SD.

Well i guess theres an update coming next week for that and other issues. Trying to see if i can snag a change log for the new update.

For what it's worth, the tech support guy over the phone said he was looking at an update that they were working on when he was troubleshooting my phone today. Not sure if this was the update you were referring to or not, but he said he was looking at some notes with the update..so they have to be out there somewhere.

I just received my refurb Eris today which came with 2.1 installed. I could post the build numbers and the like if anyone is interested.

Its not out yet so it wont be on any new phones or available for ota yet. Im working on getting a specific date still. We'll see what comes up.

Sure. My guess is that it is the same as 2.1 OTA and leak v3. More importantly, though, my guess is that it has the newer bootloader (1.49) that cannot be reflashed with root, as if it was installed with leak v3.

My guess is that it's:

Baseband: 2.42.00.04.12
Kernel: 2.6.298a03cb9a htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Build: 2.36.605.1 CL165907 release-keys

That's the correct ver doogald. Is there a way I can pull info on the bootloader to confirm it's the 1.49? I attempted to root yesterday evening due to this 5 minute old refurb having the silent call bug. unfortunately, the root process failed. Boo.

My bad, the OS is being released for the last phase of testing, not being released to all of us suckers. So shouldnt be too far off, barring any hang ups that cause it to fail.

It is probably 1.49 if root did not work, but you can check by shutting down the phone and pressing Vol Dn with Power On, just like when you tried to root. It will have the bootloader version on that screen. The second line will say HBOOT with a version number afterward.

haha nice, Well at least they are testing stuff instead of releasing something that will have to be patched again.

Take this for what it is, but a friend of mine has an Eris that is driving him nuts with some of the bugs and constant freezing and crashing.

He called Verizon looking help and they basically told him that is his screwed, so he called HTC (this friend who attempted to call NASA when he got into a discussion about the milky way) and this is what he said he told me.

I called HTC today and had a sup tell me there isn't and never was a patch being created to fix the eris. And that Verizon was told from the beginning that the eris 2.1 would be fragmented, as well as Verizon demanding the update before HTC wanted to let it go. Hence the no speach to txt. The sup said that the eris hardware could handle it but had to be scratched because of the rush. And I'm not pulling your leg. Wish I would have recorded the call.

Now I know it is not uncommon for supervisors in call centers not to get information (I know this because I am one), but to out right say no patch is being worked on seems odd to me. I know I would never say that as a supervisor.
