Another Z4root not working. Just reverts to home screen

I installed Z4root. I have essentially nothing else running. No security programs or anything. First time I ran it it just got stuck on the "running exploit" screen. Since then I've rebooted and battery pulled several times. Now when I run it will hang on the Running Exploit for a good 3+ minutes and then gets to "obtaining shell" or whatever that says and then after about 15 seconds of that the program closes and I'm back to the home screen. Ideas?

z4root does not work with DL09 and from what I have read will not work with DL30 either.

If you are looking to root this is the place to look -> here

But I have to root my phone in order to get to the point where I can install Froyo right?

no you do not, if you follow the directions cory outlined in the leaked DL30 thread rooting is not necessary

I was reading in XDA were some chap unrooted DL30 - How.. didn't explore that.. then wanted to re-root. Looking for busybox and su for DL30 - Thought maybe there was another experiment on the way.

Ah ok. He didn't say in the instructions that you had to be or didn't have to be. I assumed you did. I posed the question in that 102 page thread but didn't get an answer. Thanks for answering!

i imagine, flashing su+busybox will work but i will test this out when i get a chance, i wasted the whole night trying to make a video for everyone but ended up crippling my computer, i think i overloaded it trying to do video/screencapturing at the same time... time for a new comp
