Answer to immediate battery loss?

Yeah I already have all that covered. I'll try swapping the sleep timer off and see if that's any help....well I don't have an issue now with battery as I get 10 hours under heavy usage streaming youtube etc. Any who thanks for the tip.

And @Diabl0, you at about 60% battery with only an hour on the battery.....40 hours huh? By that gauge if you used your phone for about 2 1/2 hours straight without putting it down your phone would be dead.

And the whole "Up Time" and "Awake Time" counter is the total time your phone has been on, rather it's on the charger or not until you power cycle your phone. Mines going on 41/39 hours now...

You said you could sit your phone in standby and it would barely make it 24 hours. That's what I was getting it. It hadn't been plugged in. The only time I charge my phone is when it dies.

...snip!... The only time I charge my phone is when it dies.

From everything I've read and researched, that is not a good procedure. Lithium Ion batteries LOVE to charged and HATE to be fully discharged. This procedure will very likely wear out your battery fairly quickly.

...my $.02.

Make sure you're minimizing your phone's awake time, and make sure you're on WiFi as much as possible. The phone constantly searching for a 3G signal will KILL your battery.

Best thing to do is set your WiFi Sleep Policy to never sleep. It can be found in Wi-Fi Settings, Menu > Advanced.

I tried that yesterday it it ran my battery down quicker because I'm not near any open wifi all day.

Then it will give me a valid reason to upgrade to an extended. ;)

Well, if you're not on WiFi then the sleep policy shouldn't have any effect on battery life. It only comes in to play when you're on WiFi and the phone goes into sleep mode.

Tried bump charging...WOW!

I tried it this morning and the immediate battery loss simply disappeared...I am amazed that this actually worked...

Actually, what I am more amazed by is that I have to go through this silly routine to charge my phone...What gives? Why can't the phone just charge the battery fully?!?!

Best practice for me: charge it up over night. Then when I get up in the morning, I unplug it, check my email and whatever, then plug it back in while I get ready for work. Out the door with a true fullycharged battery.

@rpfarrah: When you plug the phone back in while you're getting ready for work, do you turn it off or charge it while it is on?

believe it or not what drained my battery was seismic even when set to check every hr.
uninstalled and getting a full day again.

Yeah I dumped seismic after about a week of using it because of the battery. Went through all the choices, landed on Touituer and couldn't be happier.
