Answering machine app - NOT Voicemail

Have been searching for an Android phone-answering app that will show options when the phone rings and let me select actions additional to the regular answer/reject buttons. When the phone rings it should let me select which message (that I have recorded) to use to answer that call. The apps I find are like real answering machines that just auto-answer and record. I don't want auto-answer or record.

I would guess that I'm not the only person who has the following problem.

I've been getting over a dozen spam calls each day. The problem with rejecting a call or letting it just go to voicemail is that it goes to voicemail and, well, then I have to go to voicemail and clear that. The problem with answering the call normally is obvious.

Lately, I've been answering and quickly hitting mute and speaker and letting the call play out. That way if it happens to be someone I actually know I just un-mute and talk to them.

Most often it's an obvious spam/spoofed number calling and it would be great to be able to answer with something like a fax machine tone, or a number not in use announcement, or a "please enter your access code" message or such that I've prerecorded.

Does anyone know of such an app and if not is there maybe a developer someplace that thinks an app like that is possible and maybe a good idea?

With the proliferation of robocallers, that's a great idea - especially if it gives the "number not in use" tones for the specific country. But I haven't seen such an app yet, and I retired from software development a long time ago, so you'd have to find someone else to do it, if anyone's interested. (I'm moving this to the appropriate section, though, so it will get more exposure.)
