Basically, I feel antivirus programs on android phones are basically useless since all they do is scan company name. For instance, you install sn AV app and you choose to scan, all it really does is scan the android folder for company name and not code.

Anyways, what's the best AV app for blocking ads on non rooted phones?

I don't know of any AV apps that block ad's for non-rooted devices. Take a look at the most popular ones in the Play Store and see if this functionality is available. Personally, I don't disable ads. They are there for a reason, and if you don't want the ads, then consider supporting the Developer and donate/purchase the paid version (if available) which is in most cases ad free.
