Any Android based phones support full inline headphone controls?

Hey all.

Recently, my 2 year contract on my Nokia N97 (yeah I know I know) ran out, so I was finally free and was looking to alternatives. I got myself a 2nd hand ZTE blade really cheaply to trial run Android before I commented myself to anything (lessons learned) and after some rooting fun I knew that it was the mobile platform for me.

What I do miss dearly from my N97 though is the full inline headphone controls. I don't just mean Volume, I want (most importantly) to be able to pause and maybe track skipping. I study languages and being able to easily pause and unpause audio tracks whist the phones screen is locked is a must. I've googled around but didn't find anything other then volume controls.

On my G-Nex, the music app works just like the iphone. One click on the headset button to play/pause, double click to skip, triple click to skip back. Headset has a slider for Volume.

I should note that i'm using the Zagg Smartbuds headphones.

Also if the plug is pulled the music pauses automatically. (Avoids accidental sharing of music in a public setting)

Ah cool. So is this something that's phone specific do you think or will any headphones with inline controls will work with many Android phones?

I did just try the N97 inline adapter with it and that didn't work out, worth a shot though.

On my Inspire with Sony bluetooth headphones, I can do everything. Play/pause, FF/REW, volume control, place and receive calls.

I never even considered Bluetooth headphones, guess that could be the way to go.

Coming from the iphone, i also want this. Best solution is to use Bluetooth. I recommend the sony mw600. You can plug in any 3.5mm headphones.
