Any danger using 'fake' wireless charging pads?

I purchased two wireless charging pads from eBay for £7 each. Too good to be true I know, but worth a try. They seemed to work fine for the first few days, but this morning I woke up to find my phone was only at 78% despite being on charge all night. A quick blast with the fast charging plug and it was up to 100% in no time.

I am using a plastic case, so I'm not sure if thats it, but I was the night before too.

I've now ordered an official fast charge pad but in the meantime, is there any danger using these fake pads? Any potential damage to the battery etc?

They could generate more heat and charge slower, or stop charging due to poor connection

It could make the phones battery hotter than usual so I personally wouldn't ever use any wireless charger outside of samsung

I wouldn't do it. The heat could cause issues if it isn't done right. I use the actual Samsung fast charger and it works like it should.

The other thing is, the pad isn't turning green any longer. It did previously, but now the phone is showing the green light at the top but the pad is still blue and pushing charge.

Thoughts?

If I were you I would just get the Samsung wireless charger. It's worth the money and you'll know that your phone won't get damaged in the process. When it comes to my phone being an $800 device I would never choose the cheap option for charging accessories. I always go with manufacturer.

Sure lets buy the 700+ phone then skimp on how to charge it. Nothing wrong with that. ha ha ha.
Whats the worst that can happen. Burn up the phone or house maybe? So with that said wireless charging needs to be as close to the phone as possible. Take off the phone case and test it and see if you get better results. In theory you should.
Any excessive heat is bad on a phone. Always remember that.
When dealing with electronics its OK to buy stuff that is not from the manufacturer but still try to stick with reputable brands. Cheap chines nock off crap is just that crap and because its electrical can be dangerous.
