Any decent 3rd party YouTube app?

Switched from Windows Phone to Android few days ago, shoked by how awful the YouTube app is.

Although WP lacked many apps, it has one of the best YouTube experiences ever!
1. Play videos as MP3
2. Play Videos in the background
3. Download at any resolution
4.preserved Default resolution
5. It looks great with customizable themes

Are there any app that offers all or some of the above?

Several of the items you pointed out are paid premium YouTube features (playing in the background and downloading videos), so we can't help you bypass those. I've never heard of a themes option in their app, and some songs do play with a static image similar to a straight audio file. The latter depends on how it was uploaded to YouTube in the first place.
