I'd hazard a guess of at least 50k, and probably more than 100k. Maybe a lot more.

Several Verizon stores have told me that the GN is their best selling Android phone, and early reports included selling out of initial stock in many areas, and VZW having to shift stock around to keep up with demand. The little strip-mall store where I picked mine up at said they sold out of their stock (only about 20) in the first couple hours, and even several days suggested people call ahead to make sure they had some.

Surely nothing like the iPhone numbers, but I think easily their best selling Nexus device to date.

I went to try one out last night at a mall Verizon store (not corp but and independent) person said that this store has only sold 5 units, they dont even have on on display. waiting until beginning of January after I pay for my kids toys, I get mine!

so the number is somewhere between 100 and 63,000,000? (63,000,000 is the estimated number of iPhones sold in 2011 alone)
