Any fix for smart lock?

Can't seem to get it to work reliably inside my house. I have it pinned to my address and set correctly. Posted this here because it seems it's gotten worse to the point of now not working at all since Android 12. Used to always work then most of the time then some of the time and now none of the time. Was a nice feature wouldn't mind having it working properly again anyone else having issues?

Smart lock is hit and miss. It's been working better for me but sometimes I do have to enter my pin. No idea why

Try going into permission settings and make sure it can access precise location and not just coarse

Failing that, you could always tie it to your WiFi network instead. That's a thing, right?

I'm not sure why but Smartlock doesn't seem to work with location. And it seems to just be location. I posted about this a few model seasons ago, where I tried it and I found that it was keeping my phone unlocked basically all of the time. Once I turned it off things went back to normal. If you have a Samsung device Bixby may have one useful purpose and this is it. Bixby can keep your device unlocked while in a location and it works. I think you can also keep it unlocked by WiFi with Bixby, something that I wish Smartlock could do. Something I'm surprised it doesn't do, or can't. Either or. There are actually a lot of complaints about this online even on Google's own forum. So do they know, yep. Do they care, nope.

Yeah I’ve been using precise location all along. Supposedly I can tie it to a nearby device like my laptop but I couldn’t get that to recognize it. Interestingly enough, It started to mostly work the other day and then quit again. It’s just not very reliable.

When I first got my pixel 4A it worked reliably every time. The reliability has just dropped off over time for some reason, I didn’t change anything. Was hardly working at all then started working for about a day and a half and then quit again. I wish I could just leave the phone unlocked all the time but then the fingerprint sensor won’t work for all the other things I have tied to that

All of the apps like banking, credit card and which ever phone pay app you use may not work if you try to turn off your lock screen/biometrics but I wonder if keeping it unlocked like with Bixby, Tasker or Smart Lock would be recognized as not having a security feature enabled? Technically it is still enabled, it just isn't being used, as much. Can't say at all because you'd still have to unlock at power up, maybe get one of those random unlock requests after waking and sleeping the screen a few times too rapidly. It would cut down on the number of unlocks just not do away with them.
