Any former X2/Charge owners switch to TB?

I went from the Charge to the X2, and now I'm starting to dislike the lack of development for the phone and I miss 4G.

Anyone here previously own a Charge and/or X2? Thoughts? I would have gotten the TB instead but the comments I've seen about the poor voice quality and some bad screens had turned me away.

I came from a Charge to the TB.... Charge is a good phone but I didn't like the plastic-y feel. It just didn't feel like a $600 phone to me. Another thing I hated about it was ODIN! That thing is so flaky that its not even funny. It once took me a few hours of constant retries before it recognized my device.

X2 however is pretty much my dream phone but it lacks 4G.... I'm wasn't gonna pay premium for data and then ride 3G speeds....So I didn't go for it...

Idk how you could go from 4g to no 4g. Its impossible for me now. 3G feels like dial up to me lol

I dunno either, but I definitely miss it. I could use 4G at home and not have to use my wifi, but now I do. I guess I was so anxious to get rid of the Charge that I just settled for whatever.

I hear ya... I won't buy another Samsung. Even with the custom kernels, ROMs, etc... the thing was very sketchy, and ODIN pissed me off to no extent. My girlfriend has the Fascinate and I hate it, and should have told myself that when I bought the Charge.

The X2 is nice, feels almost at home as I had the original X, but the lack of development for the X2 is very disappointing and I doubt anyone will contribute as much as they did on the original. Not only that, but that Pentile display is starting to bug me again. But, that being said, I'm mostly looking for something to hold me over for a while until around the Holidays or shortly after when a bigger, badder phone (better than the Bionic) comes out. I have a little bit of disposable income so I don't mind forking out the $500-600 for the right phone, I can always turn around and sell whatever I have at the time to gain a little of that back.

Important questions for TB owners:

How is the screen compared to the Charge or X2? I know it won't be as vivid as the Charge and I don't care about that, but if it's better than the Pentile on the X2 then I don't mind.

What about call quality? The Charge had ok call quality, but Motorolas are hard to beat when it comes to that department.

I guess there is enough development on the TB to basically customize the heck out of it any way you want? What about 4G speed and signal? Anyone having the dreaded 4G>3G>1x dropout issue?

The screen on the thunderbolt is good enough to me. It doesn't have the appearance of the charge and even think the Droid x might be a little better but it still looks good. I don't 4g where I live but I visit Florida and NYC at least twice a month and haven't had any trouble staying connected to it. I love it and miss it every time I go home. The device community is better so what e er you want to do to the tbolt youbcan

I just gave my GF my X2 because I could buy a used Thunderbolt. Something about the X2 screen I just didn't like (probably because I'm old and going blind). Anyway I loved my old X screen but Verizon replaced it with the X2 because of numerous problems. I personally love the Thunderbolt compared to both Xs. I really like the Sense UI and how it seems to integrate everything so seamlessly but I do miss the ability to re-size widgets like on the Xs.
I was holding out for the Bionic but I was uncertain of whether its screen would give me the same experience as the X2 or would there be some better phones on the Horizon. I've been wanting a 4G phone since it came to town here in Indy.

Now I can patiently wait to see what happens in the next couple of months while holding on to my upgrades.

The Bionic is going to have the same "qHD" resolution, but I don't know if it will be the same Pentile display. If so, that's an automatic no-go for me.

I just don't know what I'm going to do about the X2 though.
