Any IR Remote Apps work with G2?

I'm not having much luck with the built in remote app on any of my TV's (Sony, Vizio or others)

All 3rd party apps I'm finding are only for HTC or Samsung. Anyone else have luck finding one compatible with the G2?

Sorry to bump my own thread, but thought I'd add this info in case anyone else is looking:

I emailed Paper Tiger, who makes the Smart IR apps for the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, and asked if they were going to make a version for the G2. They said that LG locks down access to the IR blaster and therefore their app wouldn't be able to work with it the same way it does with the other phones.

In other words, if you want to use it, you're stuck with the built in app.

Luckily the "learn" function of the built in app has solved most of my problems, other than the blaster itself not having very far of a range.

yeah i wasted $10 on the GS4 app, and i'm not using my GS4 anymore. their apps are a ripoff anyway, i doubt i'd buy one for the G2 too

So far the remote app has worked on every unit I tired. Sony TV, DirecTV and a older Sony surround sound system.

I think my initial problem was actually with range, not "codes". From my couch to my TV in the living room is roughly 7-8 feet and I've found I need to fully extend my arm or lean forward to make it pick up. I've now got it programmed for all my TV's, my Dish Hopper, and I've made it "learn" my Sony soundbar. Now that I've figured out its range, I'm all good with it.

The s4 TV remote control is way better then the g2. I do not plan on using it on the g2, good thing it's not a huge deal for me.

Mine works on all my devices, set up was quick and easy at about 14'. I still just grab my Logitech Harmony when I go to use anything anyway.

Yes. On my LG G2 VS980 I use the Any Mote Universal Remote + WiFi application by Color Tiger. The paid access upgrade is definitely worth the low price.
