Any issues applying the new update to an unrEVOked EVO?

I've seen some people who have unrEVOked installed on the EVO's talk about restarting and not running the app. I'm confused because I only ever ran unrEVOked once and have been rooted ever since - through many restarts and battery pulls. Whenever I run an app that requires root access the SuperUser Permissions pops up and tells me that it has granted permissions to that app, but I DO NOT, and have not, run unrEVOked again.

So this leaves me confused about whether it is OK to apply the new update with unrEVOked installed on the phone. Can anyone shed light on this?

So, does that mean that the free tether app and Titanium Backup don't work too, or is it just the unrEVOked app that doesn't work? What apps were you running that required root?

Do NOT update if you want to keep UnrEVOked working with SU permissions.

I unrooted my phone (wiped it clean) and then updated.
Well, after the update... I realize that I need SU permissions to run Titanium Backup to restore all my apps/settings.
So now I'm running without all my old apps/settings and waiting on a fix from UnrEVOked.

I think they released something yesterday about updating through unrevoked 2, and being able to keep the semi-root after updating? Check their twitter... they post stuff immediately on there.

If you like your root access and free wifi tether and titanium and etc, don't update just yet.

I have this problem with my evo in which everytime I ask to install it and then when around 25% of it been installed, it gave me a white triangle with a yellow Exclamation mark in the middle right beside the android robot. I have to take out the battery everytime it freezes and I was wondering if any of you have this problem.

Just uncheck your "check for updates" box and it wont notify you anymore. Me Did That!!!

That not it. I want to update the latest htc update but the installation stop around 25% of the installation and gave me a white triangle/yellow exclamation mark beside the android robot.

I was wondering about this as well. I know Unrevoked won't work after updating but is it OK to go ahead and update or should Unrevoked be removed first?

a question...

New on this forum but a long time xda member. I can't find the answers I'm looking for on this and it sounds like someone here might know. I have searched Google a while but find no answer. Here goes:

I have not done the 6/29 OTA update. I also have never used unrevoked (either version). My phone is not rooted. Would like to try unrevoked rather than a more permanent root method cuz all I'm really interested in is usb tethering (w/o installation of PDAnet etc),. If I try unrevoked now, before doing tba 6/29 update, do I HAVE TO do unrevoked2, or will regular unrevoked work? Also, if I apply the update after unrevoked, am I at risk of bricking my phone (due to the whole twice update wimax radio issue , or whatever exactly it is that.broke others' radios?

Any input or even a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Scott

If you haven't applied the 6/29 OTA, you should be able to just install unrevoked to get the partial root. I didn't have to install unrevoked2 when I did it.

Thanks for quick (whoa, almost just did the update, the prompt popped up on my screen WHILE I was typing this and the 'over WiFi' button got selected. Phew) anyhow, thanks for quick reply.
I was curious about the broken WiMax too, though. Meaning, if I try unrevoked, then down the road decide to do the OTA, will that break my wimax. I thought I read something like that on the unrevoked docu.wiki. but wasn't sure if I just misunderstood.

Anyone know more about this, or have answer, or even know where to locate support for unrevoked. I've tried unrevoked website, but find only download link, no support or forum.

Again, thanks.

WiMax is only broken on a full root + froyo rom. Mine works fine with unrevoked.

Best place to get support would be twitter. Follow @unrevoked.
