HI Guys:

First time poster...long time reader on Android Central. I have made up my mind on the fact that I will be getting a 700, but I don't know if I should wait for the data models or just go wifi. I haven't heard any news on the release/price/carrier specifics for the 3G/4G LTE models, and I would really like to not have to wait until the end of the year for them to be released.

I guess my question is has anyone heard anything other than "releasing later this year" on the 3G/4G LTE models? Cost? Carrier? Release date? CPU/GPU specs? I don't want to get the wifi only model and then have buyer's remorse a few months later if Asus decides to release these.

P.S. - I had the TF300 Pad wifi but I took it back anticipating the release of the data models....still haven't seen any info on those beng released. Fool me once...

I haven't heard anything more than "they're coming" and that they'll be running Snapdragon S4 chips instead of Tegra 3.

Quite honestly, if you have a phone that is capable of mobile hotspot, I wouldn't even worry about it, just use your hotspot and it'll be near the same exact thing.

Which is what I will be doing with my Infinity once I get it, and need to look something up on it when away from Wifi.

I am sorry but this is not an acceptable solution, on an LTE network with a device in mobile hotspot mode you can measure battery life in seconds.

I really grow tired of mfgs completely misreading the market. First of all there is no excuse for it taking this long to get this device to market, this tablet should have been out in April, and then to release only half of the features is patently stupid. I am a die hard Apple hater but hell even those idiots figured it out and release their wifi/4G models together...

Well it works just fine for my needs and I have no problems with it. I'm glad I get more battery life than mere seconds too.

The LTE models have a different CPU, that's why it's taking longer to manufacture them. There isn't a very big demand for them at the moment either, no matter what you might think. Apple didn't have to change the CPU in their new iPad with LTE when they brought it to market because it's still a dual-core CPU with a quad core GPU. And that's probably why they haven't updated the CPU to quad core...
I used bluetooth tethering today using my Bionic's LTE and it worked fine. It didn't drain the battery too dramatically, and I got perfectly fine surfing speeds for a bluetooth tether.

The new S4 looks like a nice processor though so if they do come out, could be something to look at/wait for if wifi only isn't you bag. Personally, there is almost always a wifi hotspot to latch onto and if not, I can always share my phone.
