I saw somewhere on here the 28th as well, but it doesnt make sense. I think the eariest they would release it would be 14 days after the 24th.

Yea everyone that didn't want data would return them 4 days later so the 28th will not happen. I think its more like 3 months. When the other mass amount of tabs come out they will drop the wifi only to take the sales of the other brands.

So I expect it in a couple weeks, ;-) j/k

I don't think Motorola has a lot of smart plays here, If there's any truth to the ipad 2 event next week rumor than the Xoom may be a non starter, only us hardcore android lovers will have them, but $800 vs $500 for a wifi only ipad won't get off the ground.

It will be tought with a $600 Wifi Xoom against a $500 Wifi iPad. I think the Xoom is a better device then the iPad but too many people know the Apple brand. I think the WiFi version should not be more then the Apple WiFi, but it appears that decision has already been made.

For me a Xoom Wifi at $500 with all the promised features is a great device. At $600 it is a bit overpriced, but I will still buy at least 1. I really want these Android tablets to succeed so I will also pay attention to the next wave of Honeycomb tablets.

Yeah me too, I hope the manufacturing cost go down enough that by next holiday season it's a competitive gift.

It's hard to think coming in to an existing market that they would come in with limited options at a higher price point.

Look at the Playstation 3, it came out really expensive, didn't sell a lot, it took years for them to turn a profit and the price is probably less than half of what it was. I think tablets will evolve a lot faster, so maybe this particular model won't be a money maker because by the time it will turn a profit it will be really out dated.

But, I'm down anyway lol.

In my heart of hearts I hope wifi only comes out next month. The only semi-specific rumor is an April release in Argentina. If this is true or what bearing that has on an US release I have no idea. Really wished moto would at least tell us how long their deal with Verizon is...

while Apple will cost around $500, the difference with Xoom is that the price will fall eventually, while iPad will stay at $500 until it's replacement.

March 2nd is when Apple will reveal more on the iPad2. As much as I hate apple I hope they raise the bar so Motorola will start stepping their game up and stop this crap with Verizon and required data plans.

3 of my friends are on the fence about what tablet to get. They don't want a 3g compatible tablet so they are waiting. With no WiFi xoom info I fear they will loose interest and grab something else. I'm sure the others have something to offer that is great but if there was some solid info they might wait it out. Who knows, its not too late.
