Any one experiencing jittery/stuttering HD Video?? Please Help!!

Hello everyone,

I'd like to describe the issues I'm having as accurately as possible. If anyone can check to see if this problem can be reproduced to make sure if my device is defective or not, I would really appreciate it. I have checked in various apps and it seems to be worse in some than others. In the Youtube app for example, I am experiencing some stuttering while watching videos. It is subtle, but it is there. The worse seems to be the Hulu Plus app on High Setting Picture Quality. It's stuttering so much it is barely watchable. Generally it seems to happen when I am watching an HD Video. If someone can check on these specific apps and offer some feedback it would be of great help. I will go Tomorrow to my local AT&T Store to check the demo unit. I'd also like to point out that I am not trolling in any way and I'm just fearing I may have a defective device.

Just checking but do you have the facial recognition software for videos turned off or on? Yesterday I experienced with dismay what I thought was a problem w the video player in the device, but I realized that the face recognition software was extremely sensitive to slight moves of the head(!) with the effect that videos stuttered and stopped playing every second. When I disabled that function the issue went away.

Thanks for your reply! Are you referring to the smart screen options?
 
If the settings are off then you might want to exchange the phone- or perhaps wait for an update to fix it (who knows how long that would take though) I'm sorry that didn't work for you!
 
@Grifter9931 That sounds like the exact same issue! Somebody even mentions the Hulu Plus issue!! I tried to look for any setting in the network/wi-fi section but no luck! Thanks anyway for the link!

@ Kat Mor Don't worry! Thanks for the help anyways. I want to exchange it unless I'm certain it's a software issue...
 
I have the same issue. And have had it on two note 3s. So I know it's not the phone, every single app but hulu plus streams just fine over LTE and wifi. But hulu plus studders.. I have tried everything and it does not work. Maybe the developers need to update the app to be more compatible with the note 3.

Hi... New to android and the whole reason I went with note 3 was for the big screen to watch videos. Is it likely YouTube and netflix will make updates to correct poor video quality? If so, how long do you think it will take? Thanks for any info for this android premie :)

Stupid Netflix hasn't made even the profile support yet.
