Any one regret not getting the Edge variant?

Hi all,

So as the title suggests, any one regret their choice or considering a swap the larger of the family?

I am personally on the fence, I have been using a note 5 and a 6S Plus for the last few months and swore I wanted a smaller phone this go round but as I always do, I went to best buy today on the way home and held my phone next to the edge and it's not that much bigger, for me I could care less about edge functionality, it's all about battery.

Curious to hear your thoughts.

I definitely want but I can see having buyers remorse after a month because I feel like edges will get annoying all though I'm sure some edgist will beg a differ

Don't really care about battery, I have a backup battery anyway and I'm usually always around some kind of power. My main concern was screen real estate. Coming from the 6S Plus this phone seems fit for a small child.

I miss the space on the screen. The battery does worry me a little because I went from having phenomenal 2-day battery to just over an 8hr shift for the battery.

I like the new OS and I think I might give the edge a try before I make a final decision on whether or not to get rid of it.

dont really care for the bigger screen/phone because im not a fan of bricks... the bigger battery is the only reason i would cop but i wouldnt make use of the edge features on here to make it a worth while cop... im fine with my s7 honestly

I don't have either yet and I gave the Edge some thought, but, I won't be buying it. #1 the price and #2 (what I feel) is a dicey design (protection wise). My S5 has flown out of my hands too many times! My Spigen Ultra Hybrid and Zagg screen protector have done a flawless job of keeping my phone protected. What protects those uber cool curved sides of the Edge? Looks like they're vulnerable.

I debated it but I honestly didn't care for the distortion looking at images full screen, or as others said, accidentally activating the screen edges constantly.

I had an S7 Edge but returned it, bugger than I wanted. The only regret I have is I loved the color- Silver.

Nah. I actually want the S7 since I know that I wouldn't use the edge features and basically everything else is nearly identical.

The bigger screen is what is pushing me towards the edge. If they had a S7+ without the edge that would have been what I would have gotten

That's a tough one. I have the Galaxy S6 edge. And I would've loved the S7 edge to stay the same size.

I used to have the Note 4. And as soon as I switched to a smaller phone it felt like heaven. I know people are moving towards bigger phones but I don't really see the point. Yes you get better media consumption but on the expense of ergonomics, usability and pocketability.

Having said that, the edge. Man. I think you should go with the edge. If money is not an issue. It's more future proof in terms of design. And if you haven't owned an edge phone yet you'll love the feeling. Especially with so many android UI elements sliding from here and there. You'll love the sliding feeling there's nothing like it.

Edge!

Even the Samsung rep at my local Best Buy told me the Edge is just a gimmick. Personally I wouldn't do it because there's no real way to protect the screen if it falls even once. I'm more about function than fashion.

I have no regrets. Loving the S7 its size was the big factor for me . The Edge was just to big. I did like the features and the Battery but not enough . I had a G3 and just wanted an easier to manage phone.

The edge serves the function of providing the phone sexiness and uniqueness. If you're paying hundreds of dollars for a 5" object it might as well be the sexiest, most unique object there is.

There's something about it laying there on the table all slim with the edge shining.

If size is not the issue that is. I still think both are the same phones from the inside. Price and size should be determinants I think. Otherwise, trust me with the uniqueness and the sexiness :p

I got the regular s7 after playing a lot with s6edge and I'm glad I chose the regular version. Edge is not really my thing and the s7 is a beauty at every angle

I have both and I do prefer the edge slightly. The extra screen size does it for me and it feels a lot more solid on the hand. Saying that the normal S7 is one hell of a phone.

It is sexy now.... But the first time you drop it, and you will, and the screen cracks it won't be so sexy any more. Now you'll have to spend money on that sexy thing and it will drain your wallet. Sounds like a sexy woman if you ask me. :-)

Hahahaha I don't want to jinx myself but I haven't dropped any of my women ever :p

I dropped my iPhone 5 once. But not after that :p

The way the s7 heats up I'd be afraid of the s7 edge. Remember last year of all those s6 edge screens cracking for no apparent reason? From what I gathered from the forums it was all heat related. But it really is a nice screen isn't it? 😥

Haven't noticed any abnormal heating on my Exynos S7. Seems to run cooler than my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact does with its Snapdragon 810.

I haven't had any heating up issues besides when I first activated the phone and it did all the starting downloads. Nothing out of the ordinary from any other phone I have had. Runs alot cooler than my old G3.
