Any possibility of Third Party custom leather backs for Moto X

I love the leather back options that Moto X currently offers but was thinking if it's possible for third parties to make custom leather backs using gator leather with patterns..

Of course that raises a fundamental question if Moto X back can be swapped easily.

I would love to have a dark brown gator leather back. Any thoughts guys?
