Any tablet with OTG + Charge?

I have been running a 2012 Nexus 7 in my car for a few years now, but the tablet is starting to show its age.

The problem I am finding, is a replacement device that functions as well is virtually impossible to find. I tried a Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 edition, it did not like reading flash drives or using a USB DAC. Currently I am trying a Samsung SM-P580, USB DAC and Joycon work. But, it tells me my flash drive (that works perfectly with the Nexus) needs to be formatted. Going to try another flash drive, which I am hopeful will work, but, as to be expected, charging is not working with the powered USB hub connected.

Now, I know I can try a Lavalink adapter, but reviews are far from great, some devices it works, but not all, as well as many reports of the adapter failing after a month or so. Given the fabrication needed to fit the Samsung, I will need something reliable.

So, are there any devices that offer OTG and charging at the same time? Ideally without additional adapters. There are a fair number of Nexus 7 users with aging devices who run them in the car (usually on Timurs kernel) and I am sure many would be interested in a newer tablet that functioned as well.

Any suggestions? While the P580 is a 10" tablet, anything from 8-10" will work.

I started looking at Raspberry pi, but running Android on it loses touch functionality, and the Raspberry pi software, at least what I have seen in my limited exposure, does not look as smooth as Android apps. A Windows tablet may work, but the apps then become an issue and OTG + charge may still be a problem.

Thanks.

Since it doesn't put digital audio on the USB port (no device with a 3.5mm jack does), there's no input to the DAC.

With OTG, the power lines change from input to output, so plugging in a charger will blow the charger, the device or both.

That's like asking if there's dry water. OTG uses the power lines to power the device connected, they're output lines.

Everyone in the electrical industry would be interested in a wire that could send electricity in both directions at the same time.

What you're looking for is impossible because of the laws of physics.

It's frightening how wrong you are... My Nexus 7 has a 3.5mm jack, USB audio works perfectly. The P580, also has a 3.5mm jack and USB audio works, as have many other devices I have tried. The exception being the Galaxy Note in my OP, even that routed audio via USB, but acted like a CD skipping.

Additionally, the Nexus 7 with an OTG Y-cable plugged in does act as a USB host and charge at the same time. So it is possible.

I have run this set up for several years, I have no idea what hardware or software the Nexus 7 has that enables it all to work, but it does, and does it well. It's just that the tablet is several years old now and starting to fail (likely due to heat/cold cycles from being installed in a vehicle for 5 years).

That's why I am trying to find another tablet that performs those same functions. Either stock or with a custom ROM/kernel. OTG + charge is possible, it's a case of finding the devices that allow it without unreliable adapters.
