I would definitely consider getting one, however I would want to hold one in my hand first before making any final decisions.

I'd consider if it the price is right! For me...$500 or less I think. Or a GPE.

I'm really hoping they can price it somewhere between $400 and $500, that would really spark my interest, I could sell a few old phones and pick up a couple extra shifts at work and have that kind of money. They would have my business if the price is right.

Comparison between E8 and M8

No IR on E8 (if that's important to people)
A lot more camera features for M8 including the dual flash

I like both but think i would still have to get the M8.
I wonder if they will release the leaked colours (blue\red) for M8 now as the E8 has red & blue available? Or bin them?

If the Desire 816 had the specs of the E8 i'd be more inclined to buy that. I really like the look of that phone better

Just throwing it out there

I personally could careless about the IR blaster. I thought it was a waste on the M7. Didn't do it for me. THe camera looks nice and the body seems to be fine as long as the plastic feels good in the hand! If the price is below $500 I'd consider it. My gut says it will be more like $550 or so. At that point I would walk away from buying the device.

HTC makes the best looking and feeling plastic phones. The one x was good.

I have a One X still. I liked the phone but it does't came any where even close to my M7 though. But I liked the HTC One X anyways!
One X was the one quick changed my opinion of HTC's hardware design. Before that their hardware design was pretty uninspiring to me. I even had the One X in grey and then the XL (LTE) version in white.

With the M8, and Sense 6.0 they also now have an OS that I would prefer over AOSP/Nexus. And coming from someone who has always prefer the AOSP look and feel, that's saying a lot.
