Just wondering if anyone has heard whether there are any updates in the pipeline. I am still having issues with asymmetrical battery drain. I have reset the buds to no avail.

I've been using my pixel buds since launch and never had battery drain issues.

Also asymmetrical battery drain is intended. Google stated that the buds do not drain at the same rate that one bud will drain more than the other then after a certain % it switches and has the opposite bud drain and catch up. Ultimately as you get close to 0% both buds are very close and one will only have like 10-15% more than the other and when getting close to 0 it the. Switches to the other one that has 10-15 left. I can confirm this indeed is what I'm experiencing and at first I was concerned as well and thought my buds were defective. After google confirmed the behavior i started to pay attention to this and can confirm indeed what they described is what I'm experiencing. They stated that the reason for this is due to assistant and other adaptive features switching from one ear bud to the other in order to conserve and maximize battery. Eve though you can tap both ear buds for assistant or even say "hey google" assistant is technically only active on one bud at any given time.

Hope this helps clarify the assymetrical experience you are seeing. Try to monitor until the buds get super close to 0% and pay attention to the battery % on each bud throughout the process and you should see each bud drain more than the other.

Good luck.

Excellent. Thanks for a most informative post.
No worries i ran into the same exact issue as you and finally asked Google and then found posts on reddit of google confirming it. Start monitoring it and i bet it's working as intended and you don't have to worry about the battery bc it will intelligently switch between buds.

I haven't heard anything, and would certainly be interested in any updates as well. I still have a lot of problems with it disconnecting in one bud and then reconnecting. More of a nuisance than anything.
