Well i tried to get into my first https sites last night to check my cc balance for a pirchase in atore and my owa email for my one work email because im on call and no dice
The site would load but would never allow me to authenticate.
Cant say my blackberry ever let me either, but thia would be a great function so people can check banking at the least.
Any settings changes to get this to work?

I can access my bank account online via https with no problem. Ditto with my company OWA account. I just tried this with Dolphin using both WiFi and 3G, and with the stock browser on WiFi.

I don't see any setting or options that would prevent this if set incorrectly.

I can confirm I can check my bank accounts, credit cards, and webmail both work and gmail, all utilizing https.

Have you tried the site in Dolphin with the user agent set as desktop?

I have had no problems yet with ssl on mine but I mostly use Dolphin.

I think he's talking about tethering using easytether. If you don't have the paid version, https sites won't load. I just remotely log into my home computer when I want to check my bank accounts, safer that way anyway.

In the stock browser, press the Menu key, then More -> Settings -> Mobile view.

You can also type the url from the beginning, making sure to include https:// and then bookmark the page for easy future access.

Use the Firefox Beta - it works to access https sites, including corporate email. This should get more press as I nearly tossed my device until I was told about it.

Probably because the stock browser works fine on HTTPS sites. No need to bump a month old thread that was already resolved.
