Buyer protection.

Exactly, buy from a reputable seller and make sure they have a good return policy. I sell phone on eBay all the time and do not give out the ESNs, MEIDs or IMEIs numbers (and make sure they are covered in pics)

Swappa requires the seller to provide the IMEI number and they check said number before allowing the device for sale. I would definitely buy from Swappa before eBay.

Just used a reputable seller you should be fine. Plus make sure to use PayPal for buyer protection. They'd have your back believe me. Just avoid Craigslist at all costs. You might get lucky there but the risks outweigh the deal you might get.

Swappa won't even let people list a phone that's tied to a payment plan which I like. eBay doesn't care. They can sell you the phone and report it stolen just like they can on Craigslist. Again a reputable seller should quell any of your worries.

Bought a bunch of phones off Swappa. All my kids phones come from there. They are currently on Galaxy S7. I also sold my Note 4on there without a problem.
