Anyone checked "The audio port will be usable with the Froyo update" since update?

Hey all, I know all the debate raging on Froyo, and that at least at some point, Verizon sold audio accessories with their phone that said:

The audio port will be usable with the Froyo update

WHen I first got my Fascinate I was disappointed that I couldn't plug in regular headphones and talk into the phone like I could on my Blackberry.

However, I have tried since the recent little update, and it works.

Did it fix the "audio port" issue? I only wonder because if it did, that might indicate that Verizon has filled all it's "obligation" at this point and might not NEED to do Froyo. Ever.

I use the same headphones on my Fascinate as I did on my BB Storm. I wonder why you are having issues.

He means things like the Home Dock, not the phone itself.

@RMTPhotography, I'll try it on mine. I was trying to get out of my Fascinate contract, and that was one of the excuses I was using. So I was hoping it still didn't work.

We're talking about a few different things here. I'll try to clarify:

1. Prior to the DL09 update, if you plugged in regular headphones (without a microphone) you could not talk on the phone until you removed them. It was disabling the phone mic even though the headphones weren't mic'd. After the update, the phone is now recognizing what type of headphones you plug in and does not disable the phone mic if there isn't one on the headphones.

2. Headphones with mic, like the ones that come with a BlackBerry have always worked.

3. The statement on the back of the Fascinate dock about Froyo has to do with audio being output through the USB jack. The dock plugs in only to the USB port on the phone, yet it has a phono jack for audio. Supposedly Froyo is smart enough to allow for the audio to be passed through, and until its released that jack will not work.

Hope that helps.

My mic works if headphones are plugged in which is quite nice (about time). However, if I have an AUX cable plugged in the mic still doesn't work. I have tried both a two ring cable and a three ring cable. Any ideas what to do? It would be nice to not have to unplug the cable each time a call comes in while I'm driving.
