Is it just me or is the G3 nowhere near as smooth as my M8? That's my only complaint and had I never used the M8 I would probably be fine. App switching, home page reloading and transitions just aren't as smooth. Aside from rooting, which I didn't have to do on my m8, does anyone have any tips?

Re: Anyone come from the M8

I came from the 2013 Moto X. The G3 isn't as smooth as the Moto X was at most of the things you mentioned. Battery life, screen size and quality, and camera are much better though. The difference in speed is minuscule but noticeable if you are a phone nerd or looking for it. So far I'm liking the G3 a lot though. I *may* trade it for a 2014 Moto X or IPhone 6 but right now I'm leaning towards keeping the G3..

I came from M8 and it does have a huge difference on how smooth between the two but the milliseconds of delay compare to M8 doesnt bother me at all.

Re: Anyone come from the M8

I originally came from an M8, I noticed it right away. It's really hard to f*** with Sense 6.0, it is super polished. Some even claim to prefer it over stock Android. However, I will say that it seems like the more and more you use the G3 the more responsive(snappiness) it becomes and oddly enough I found the battery to dramatically improve after about two weeks of charging cycles. Depending on your carrier, there has been no firmware updates (i'm on VZW), at this point you should not worry. It seems to be on par with the M8 my wife has.

The responsiveness of G3's varies among carriers to to the way they tweak the OS and add crapware to it. What carrier is you G3?

I'm on Sprint. So the experience of you guys is that with time it has improved? At a point I was debating going back to my m8 but I really enjoy this phone!

dude.. How long have you had your G3?

I dont know how you are with your phone, but I ran my G3 pretty hard the first couple days, downloading apps, customizing widget set-ups, disabling bloatware, adjusting settings, etc. etc.

I have found that the G3 has really sped up. Most dramatically the battery life has really improved. The M8's UI is just more polished. I dont think the G3 will ever be M8/Moto x'ish

But it is really fast, so much so that when I get in an OCD bind about how fast the phone is performing i remind my self that the millisecond difference doesn't hinder my own performance.

Who am I to speak though, i'm probably trading the G3 in for the Note 4. Smoke a bowl and bring yourself back down dude, the phone is sick. The UI might perform a little faster sometimes, maybe. But

G3 Pros:
- Better Camera
- Removable Battery
- Best form Factor of any smartphone EVER.
- Youtube now has 1440p option, fantastic
- Battery life is better than my previous M8
- Knock Off
- USB 3.0

I don't know if this will make your phone seem too slow, but I messed around a little bit with the animation speeds, and that got rid of the phones twitchy feel for me. But I don't mind watching the animations, and that may be something you don't like. And maybe you can experiment with a different type of screen transition that works a little smoother?
