Been back and forth on which I'd rather have for the long term. Anyone in the same boat?

OK, so you're new, right? Seriously? Look at any other threads? Most of us debated between those two once HTC ditched the Vigor name and went with Rezound and aimed at a music market.

But I'll say that now that I have the Razr, am I glad I picked this one. Build quality, MotoCast (which allows you to access stuff on your pc from your phone!), NOT Ice Cream Sandwich or GingerBread which I've now come to dislike rather strongly. Those are the big deals to me.

I saw the thread in the galaxy nexus section, which of course has its bias but I'd like to hear both opinions.

I have and am still considering it even though I have the Razr. My biggest problem is that the GN is a Samsung and I dislike the radio and build quality of Samsung phones.

I would be all in on the galaxy nexus however it seems the razr has a better camera on top of build quality. I'm fairly swayed to the galaxy nexus at this point just for development and that screen. Also, my power button seems defective on my razr as well as the screen blotches.

Actually, Rob, we don't have GB on the Razr. My wife has that on the Tab, and it's terrible! You know you have GB when the Menu button vanishes, leaving you adrift with every app and screen and no consistent way to find settings and all. I have my Menu button and I'm going to fight to keep it!

Wrong. Your thinking of Honeycomb, which startles me as your first reply attempted to sound like you were some super-poster.

G before H except after...something.

OK, I LOVE GB. I hate HC. And the cereal, too.

Ever since getting burned with a crappy Samsung phone, I have never considered them again. I was between a Rezound and the RAZR. I had the Rezound for two days and returned it because it couldn't pull a signal in most areas that I work. RAZR has a much better radio.

Sorry Zorro but the Razr does have Gingerbread, soon to be upgraded to ICS:
From the Verizon web site.

Well i was considering the GN until thiis evening when I broke the screen on my Razr. I've already decided that this was not the phone for me, but since the launch of the Nexus seemed so close I opted not to return it. As I pulled in the driveway my two youngest boys treated me and wanted ride the rest of the way. Being the curious kids they are they picked up my phone. I've been trying to be really careful with this thing so that I could return it. I took the phone away and got distracted by the kids getting out of the car that I forgot about my phone until I heard a splat! The flat Razr landed flat on its face!

Luckily I have insurance, but getting a Nexus looks out of the cards for me anytime soon.

Oh and I love my kids!

Of the 3, Moto has the best radios. After all, these are phones first. If I can't make a call when I need to, it's useless.

Like a few have mentioned....reception is what made me stop liking Samsung phones and start liking Moto phones.

Back when I didnt know any better, I just assumed all phones performed the same. I had a Moto, then 2 Samsungs, went back to Moto and thats when I learned some phones actually do have better reception than others. And thats what made me stick with Moto. Its easier to tell this while being on the same network and spending time in a bad reception area.

Reception and a bad experience with the Samsung Omnia 1 ran me into the arms of the Droid 1 and Android...lol. Thought I needed a slide out keyboard with a touch screen. The Droid 1 showed me all you need is a better screen. Now I dont really care for slide out keyboards anymore.

I still might get the G Nex, not to replace my RAZR but just to see what its about. Too bad I cant try a GS2 with the Exynos chip, might have gotten that too. Reason I might get the G Nex is even tho I havent really did any ROMs after Froyo came out on the Droid 1 and didnt on my Droid X1 until Dec last year...after getting the phone in July....I do miss some of the mods and whatnot on the ROMs. And it will be a easier to do ROMs on the G Nex. But I dont plan on carrying 2 phones...so if reception is still a weak area for Samsung....back it goes....after I get my fill of using ICS.

IF....IF....I can find and use that music mod that changes tracks while the screen is off and listening to music....I may never try another ROM again...lol Apps on the Market come close but none have worked as good as whats on Cyanogen Mod. That was the onmly thing I really liked about his ROMs.. I think other ROMs have started using it now, been outta the ROM scene for so long I'm lost now...lol

I love this phone, but I just added the hotspot feature today and it is a big fail. None of the devices connect to it and it sometimes doesn't even broadcast. If that doesn't get fixed soon and galaxy nexus comes out I might be switching. I have tried everything and even when my devices see the hotspot broadcasting, they all refuse to connect. Kinda sad that this phone will go back if the galaxy nexus was to drop tomorrow.

The omnia was really hyped up fone when it came out but a really big fail. I never had it but my ex had one and it was a failed attempt on touch screen fone. And my Droid Razr has great signal. It gets better 4g signal than the thunderbolt and even better 3g signal than the Droid x with the extra antenna.

Mine is going back regardless for its power button. Its gotten super flimsy and depressed into the housing. Kinda made me rethink all this build quality hype. I've never had problems with my Samsung phones, and the Atrix. Man. Don't get me started on that thing.
