Anyone done a factory reset recently?

On my other android phones I used to factory reset regularly, especially after any update. For some reason I haven't done it once on my s7 edge, just sticking with it as is after every update. But I notice lag and battery life isn't all that so I wonder about trying a factory reset. But is it worth it? Does the edge still run smoothly and with battery life just as good as when it was released or is it the updates that have added the lag and reduced battery life?

I rarely do a reset but will clear system cache (sometimes) after an upgrade. My S6 Edge 12 months into ownership still flies

Interesting. I have done a few cache resets along the way but not for a while. Just tried it and it really does make quite a difference to speed and lag. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts before it starts slowing down again

Considering doing one today, s7e is having some weird issues. Hopefully a reset will resolve them.

Likely, they meant cache wipe:

Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key
When the Android logo displays, release all keys ('Installing system update' will show for about 30 - 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
Press the Power key to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight 'yes' an press the Power key to select.
When the wipe cache partition is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
Press the Power key to restart the device.
