I am thinking about dropping VZW. I have also have a google voice account and have the Obihai device on my home network and use it sometimes. I also have the app on my phone.

I am thinking of dropping VZW and justing using the Obihai app tied to my google voice number. I know I would only be able to make and receive calls while connected to wifi but just wondering if anyone else has done this?

Dont know why you even need a obihai device. if you drop verizon use the existing phone as a wifi device.
1. merge google voice with Hangouts
2. install Hangout dialer
3. Enable receiving calls in hangouts settings (make sure you are on the latest version)

you can now make and receive calls from your wifi connected phone using google voice number.
I do this at home and my wife is using it
