Anyone else concerned about sticking with Motorola with the news of Lenovo and Snapfish?

I was only mildly concerned about the acquisition of Motorola by Lenovo. Now with Snapfish in the news I am uneasy about sticking with Motorola products. Anyone else?

It's a valid concern, but now that the public is very aware of this issue, I think Lenovo/Motorola products will actually be safer on the whole to buy, since they'll be under much more scrutiny. It's like when there was that big E coli problem at Jack In The Box--afterwards, they became one of the safest fast food places to eat, because they improved their practices tremendously, and everyone watches them more closely.

I have no concern about it.....at least, not yet. It seems Lenovo has learned a lesson from it & has ceased to use it and provided means for removing it for anyone that wishes. This is not the first time reputable manufacturers have created a self-inflicted wound by being stupidly short sighted and this includes software as well as hardware (remember the Turbo Tax fiasco a few years ago?). If history is any guide, Lenovo will be jumping through hoops going forward to ensure the damage is contained & consumer confidence is restored.

Thanks for the info! What a disaster.

I agree with both of you, Lenovo will improve their standards and try to get the lost confidence back. I've got a Moto phone and most likely the next one will be Motorola as well. No worries there.

Someone should put that Superfish, and some others, out of business.

I'm more concerned with the slow pace of lollipop upgrading, with very little transparency into the process.

I'm not going to prejudge but will reevaluate when it's time to upgrade. I'm interested in seeing what Samsung and HTC do with this year's phones. If Google still owned Motorola, though, I think I'd be more likely to get another Motorola phone than I am now.

I have nothing really against Lenovo. The superfish thing was just stupid and greedy, but the of division I think has nothing to do with what Motorola does.
